HOW DO I VOTE?
There are two ways to vote:
VOTE-BY-MAIL BALLOT: All registered voters will automatically be mailed a vote-by-mail ballot by county elections officials. Here are a few things to keep in mind when completing and returning your ballot:
Follow the ballot instructions closely.
Your signature is needed to count your vote! Don’t forget to sign the return envelope!
Return your completed ballot to a trusted source. You can return your ballot:
- By mail (it must be postmarked on or before Election Day);
- In-person at the Imperial County Registrar of Voters office during business hours;
- In-person on Election Day from 7am-8pm at any polling place or county elections office; or
- In-person at any City Hall in Imperial County or at the Salton Community Services District before Election Day.
VOTE IN-PERSON: You can vote at your local polling place, vote center or county elections office from 7am-8pm on Election Day.
HOW DO I FIND MY VOTING LOCATION?
Locations of polling places and vote centers sometimes change between elections. Your polling place can be confirmed or found:
- By visiting the state’s polling place locator or the Imperial County polling place locator;
- On the sample ballot you receive by mail; or
- By calling the Imperial County Registrar of Voters at (442) 265-1060.
In-person voting locations must offer voter registration, replacement ballots, accessible voting machines and language assistance.
CAN I STILL VOTE IF I AM IN LINE WHEN THE POLLS CLOSE?
Yes! If you are in line at a voting location by 8pm on Election Day, you can cast your vote.
WHERE CAN I FIND MORE INFORMATION ABOUT CANDIDATES AND ISSUES?
Voter’s Edge California and Ballotpedia are comprehensive, nonpartisan online guides to federal, state and local races. Your personalized sample ballot is available by entering your address and you can get information on candidates, measures and who supports them.
CAN I VOTE IF I’M UNHOUSED?
Yes! You may register to vote using the location where you spend most of your time. You must describe the location clearly enough for elections officials to establish your right to vote in a specific precinct or county. If available, a mailing address should be provided for you to receive election materials; this can be any place you receive your mail.
