Branden Sigua, originally from Los Angeles, has always had a passion for and felt deeply connected to the community.
Prior to joining the ACLU-SDIC in 2023 as the senior policy advocate, Branden practiced impact litigation and civil rights advocacy at Community Advocates for Just and Moral Governance (MoGo). While there, he collaborated with the ACLU-SDIC on community advocacy efforts and multiple cases, including Jones v. Martinez. Before his time with MoGo, he practiced civil litigation for five years.
Branden earned his bachelor's degree in rhetoric from the University of California, Berkeley, and his juris doctorate from Loyola Marymount University. As an undergrad, he worked as a mentor and tutor for first-generation college students, in addition to assuming the role of volunteer director at a camp for underprivileged children. While pursuing his law degree, Branden helped veterans advocate for their entitled benefits as a volunteer for the Legal Aid Foundation in Los Angeles.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Branden cherishes his role as a husband to a San Diego native and takes immense pride in being a devoted father of two boys. Additionally, he indulges in his passion for the cinema as an avid movie-goer.
