Marisol joined the ACLUF-SDIC as a legal assistant in June 2021. She is a first-generation, Latina immigrant who was raised in the border community of San Ysidro, California. Marisol graduated from Stanford University with a double major in Urban Studies and Political Science. During her time at Stanford, she earned The Firestone Medal for Excellence in Undergraduate Research for her honors thesis exploring the liminal identity of border town residents. Before joining the ACLUF-SDIC, Marisol interned for the U.S. Department of Justice, Civil Rights Division, where she aided in the defense of immigrant employee rights. In her free time, Marisol enjoys trying to keep up with workout programs, reading outdoors, and watching scary movies.
