For the ACLU Foundation of San Diego and Imperial Counties, “equity voters” are people who vote their values and their rights.
Equity Voters believe that public policy must be guided by a commitment to expand and ensure opportunities for all people to participate, prosper and reach their full potential in our society, regardless of race, gender, religion, sexual orientation, physical or mental ability, economic status, immigration status or zip code.

Equity Voters vote YES on Prop 10
California’s shortage of affordable housing options and exorbitantly high rents burden already economically-marginalized communities and deny them the opportunity to thrive. California’s housing affordability crisis is an urgent human and civil rights issue. This is why the ACLU is joining with concerned organizations across the state to educate voters about the importance of voting “YES” on Prop 10.
For California to truly be a just and inclusive state, local governments must address the need for affordable housing. We must ensure they have every possible tool to do so.
On November 6, Californians can act to end our state’s housing affordability crisis by voting “YES” on Prop 10 and restoring local governments’ power to better address local housing concerns.

Like you, we believe our state should be a place where all Californians can live with dignity and thrive. This is especially challenging for a growing number of Californians who struggle to keep a roof over their heads, including hundreds of thousands of San Diegans.
With an estimated 1.7 million Californians now spending more than 50% of their income on housing, our affordability crisis disproportionately hurts people with modest means. This is a diverse population that can include seniors on fixed incomes, people living with disabilities, young adults, people of color and immigrants. Ultimately, California’s shortage of affordable housing options and exorbitantly high rents burden already economically-marginalized communities and deny them the opportunity to thrive.
The fact of the matter is, California’s housing affordability crisis is an urgent human and civil rights issue. This is why the ACLU is joining with concerned organizations across the state to educate voters about the importance of voting “YES” on Prop 10.
On November 6, Californians can act to end our state’s housing affordability crisis by voting “YES” on Prop 10 and restoring local governments’ power to better address local housing concerns.
We will be calling, texting, and knocking on our neighbors’ doors to make sure they vote “Yes” on Prop 10. Join us!
